Volunteer with FinnFest USA 2026

Help us celebrate Finnish American culture

FinnFest USA is a small nonprofit that brings people together to celebrate, learn, and honor Finnish American heritage. We run on passion, our board’s time, and volunteers like you who believe this work matters. We can’t do this without you.

What Volunteers Actually Do Here

Registration & Check-In Crew

Help attendees get their badges and find their way when they first arrive. You’ll be the friendly face people see when they’re navigating the festival. Shifts are 3–4 hours across Thursday through Sunday.

Room Monitors & AV Support

Keep programming sessions running smoothly. Make sure presenters have what they need, troubleshoot microphone issues, and help manage room flow between sessions. Perfect if you like staying organized and solving small problems in real time.

Vendor & Exhibitor Ambassadors

Be the connection between our vendors and attendees. Help exhibitors set up, answer visitor questions, and keep everything running smoothly. It’s high-energy and social.

Setup Crew

If you like getting things done before the doors open, we need people to help us transform the hotel into FinnFest. Move signage, stage registration tables, and set up exhibit areas. Early morning shifts (7–9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday) available.

Tour Greeters

Welcome people to our community tours and make sure they have everything they need before departure. A smaller, focused role that gets people excited about the day ahead.

Off-Site Event Support

Help run our Friday event at the Cabooze and Saturday event at Minnehaha Park. These are smaller, community-focused gatherings with a different vibe than the main festival.

What Makes a Good Volunteer

You show up on time (or let us know if you can’t). You’re flexible—sometimes logistics shift, and we need people who can roll with it. You treat attendees and fellow volunteers with genuine friendliness. And you care enough about this community to give a few hours of your time.

That’s it. We’re not looking for perfection. We’re looking for real people who want to be part of something meaningful.
