The lecture goes through the Russian history and close relationship between the rulers and the Russian Orthodox Church. There has always been a close relationship between the church and the state: a symphony – Church and state speak with one voice. To some extent, this was the case even during the Soviet era, especially after World War II. It is crucial to understand this background in order to understand the present situation in Russia and the war between Russia and Ukraine.
