Lynette Reini-Grandell will share the quiet strength she finds in Poetry and Prose.

Lynette Reini-Grandell reads from her poetry collections and memoir, Wild Things: A Trans-Glam-Punk-Rock Love Story, and discusses how sisu sustains her as a writer and how it guides her lived experience. She will also discuss her current project, historical fiction based on the lives of her grandparents who emigrated from Finland in the early 20th century.

Lynette Reini-Grandell is the author of the memoir Wild Things: A Trans-Glam-Punk-Rock Love Story as well as two books of poetry. Her work is often inspired by Finnish folk culture and song, and she performs with the Bosso Poetry Company and the jazz/poetry collective Sonoglyph. In 2025 she was awarded Minnesota State Arts Board grant to write historical fiction based on the lives of her Finnish grandparents.
